国際ワークショップ「日本のシルクロード外交」開かれる

1997 年の橋本首相演説によるシルクロード外交提唱10 周年を記念して、9月22 日に東京 大学山上会館で、中央アジア・コーカサス研究所・シルクロード研究プログラム（CACI & SRSP、米国・スウェーデン）と、スラブ研究センター、およびイスラーム地域研究東京大学 拠点の共催により、Japan’s Silk Road Diplomacy: Paving the Road Ahead と題する国際ワー クショップが開かれました。

Session 1. Japan's New Role in Central Asia

Session 3. Economic Aspects of Japan-Central Asian Relations

• Niklas Swanström (CACI & SRSP) "Economic Integration as a Tool for Conflict Management and Confidence Building in Central Asia"


• Shimao Kuniko (York St John University) "The Political and Economic Relationships between Japan and West and Central Asian Countries with Reference to the Development of Energy and Natural Resources"

ワークショップには60 名近い参加者があり、活発な議論が繰り広げられました。この企 画はCACI & SRSP 側の発案によるもので、また当日は在京の各国大使館からも参加があり、 日本の中央アジア外交に対する国際的な関心を実感することができました。コーディネーター 役を務めた廣瀬徹也氏（初代新独立国家室長、元駐アゼルバイジャン大使）をはじめ、初期 の対中央アジア外交に関わられた懐かしい方々の顔もありました。ワークショップでの報告 をもとにした論文集が、英語版はCACI & SRSP から、日本語版はスラブ研究センターから、 来年刊行される予定です。
