Minori Takahashi has published papers and books on various topics including Greenland’s autonomy, especially in relation to climate change, and the issues of sovereignty and borders in the Arctic, with a focus on the strategies Denmark-Greenland uses to address the regional dispute over resource exploitation rights. Takahashi’s recent research has focused on the following topics: 1) elucidating the factors behind the changes in the Arctic security environment based on the case of U.S. military bases in Greenland, 2) the development of non-living resources such as oil, gas and minerals and its impact on politics and economy, and 3) the interaction between the global, national and local levels regarding the regulation of living resources, such as whales. Takahashi has, together with his colleagues, edited a book on security issues in the Arctic, with a special focus on Thule Air Base, located in Northwest Greenland (TAKAHASHI, Minori (ed.).
