[Call for Papers: INCSA 2026 Satellite Conference in Japan]
February 20, 2026
INCSA (International Nineteenth-Century Studies Association), CNCSI-Japan (Japan Hub of the Consortium of Nineteenth-Century Studies International), and the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center, Hokkaido University (SRC), are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the INCSA 2026 Satellite Conference in Japan, to be held in hybrid format in Sapporo on July 20, 2026.
The conference aims to revisit the theme of the INCSA 2026 Congress in Washington, D.C., "Revolution, Revelation, Reconciliation," from the perspective of East Asia. By doing so, it seeks to illuminate more diverse understandings of the “nineteenth century” and to recondier the historical and political impliccations of this periodization itself.
We welcome proposals for individual papers and organized panels. Presentations may be delivered in either English or Japanese.
Submission deadline: March 31, 2026.
For further details, please see the bilingual Call for Papers (English/Japanese) at the link below:
